I'm using buttons to get to various topics instead the topic block provided.

I'm trying to figure what I should be using for my buttons instead of the full url to the topic - http://www.my-site.com/index.php?topic=topic

where can I find this information or is it {site_url}{???}

I need to move the login/password box to the header. Where do I find this?
