how to remove components in GL

How would I remove functionality from geeklog? For example I don\'t want a calender on my site. Is it possible to remove the calender completely?
GeekLog is a great peice of software but sometimes it has too much functionality

Now that\'s the first time I heard that complaint 
You can\'t really remove things, but you can at least hide them. I would switch off the personal calendars in config.php, hide the calendar link from the site\'s header and disable the \"Upcoming Events\" block.
