Periodically I peruse the various Nuke sites to see what they've been up to. I wouldn't really call it spying...I just like to see if anything drastic change changed. Well, they have their Yet Another Nuke Site or, as they call it, Y.A.N.S. I thought it'd be nice to see something similar here just to hear who's using Geeklog, what you like about it and what swayed you to use Geeklog.
So, if your site "Got Geeked", let us know, post a link and tell us why Geeklog was your system of choice!
The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

I was looking for a portal to take out the hassle of trying to build my own and the fact that this one used php was a definate plus! I saw phpnuke and geeklog under php.resourceindex.com and thought geeklog better fit my needs. After some work and a bit of paitence I finally had geeklog running on my website! I was thrilled and now I hope use geeklog for years to come! So have a look at my beginning geeklog site, post on my message board and if you haven't decided to download geeklog yet, Do it! It's worth it!

I can't point you to my Geeklog site, because it's on a company intranet.
I was tired of going to the company's resident html-guru for every little change I wanted to make to the inter-office website, and the engineer was pushing for a groupware site, so I was hoping to find something that combined both. I didn't even know that weblogs existed. While searching the keyword "groupware" on Sourceforge, I found several weblogs and began to grasp the concept. I checked out everything that Sourceforge had to offer and found Geeklog to be the most advanced.
I'm a little weak on HTML code, and only a little better on PHP. Fortunately, I know enough to get by and make changes as I need them in Geeklog. Not having to code every time I want to post a poll or an announcement is my favorite feature. Not the most advanced feature, I know, but the one that make my life easier.
