Hello,

I Just migrated a client's geeklog site to a new server and the static pages & stories will no longer publish to the homepage. This occurred when the site was transferred and was GL 1.5. I used the migration script.

I was advised to upgrade to the latest version of GL so I did. This problem occurs with Professional and my Custom theme. The custom theme seems to work okay going from 1.5 to 1.6.1 except for this issue, which I don't think is theme related. Again, this problem occurs with both my theme and default professional theme.

I have turned on debugging, checked the site logs, and server logs. The logs say nothing and I see no error. Perms look correct. I've checked several times against a working version of GL 1.5 on the same server.

Also the configuration setting for the "stories per page", doesn't work. I have it set to 2 per page and it's placing every story on the Topic index. I'm not sure if this is related.

I don't know enough about PHP to find this issue. Something tells me this is a DB issue, and I am not sure how to fix that either. Thought I'd ask here to see if you've seen anything like this before I have to start with a new DB and Installation and import data & content manually.

Thanks,

-gdl

The stories seem to display just fine in the topics. Check that you've set "Show on Frontpage" for the stories (in the story editor, see under "Mode", next to the dropdown for featured stories).

bye, Dirk

Yes, both on Stories and on the Static Page.

Currently this page is set to be the homepage index. Followed by this Story on the homepage. They both have publishing to homepage selected. So the story follows the index page. Still nothing appears on the homepage. This also occurs when logged in as Admin or a User.

Thanks for any more help you can offer.

@Dirk, this issue persists.
I've run out of ideas. Any other suggestions?

Temporarily I've added:
PHP Formatted Code
 (!isset($_REQUEST['topic']))?$topic = 'news':'';

just to get something to display on the front page.

But no matter where I set the SP centerblocks to appear they don't.
And any story or SP centerblock set to display on the front page does not.

Blocks do on the other hand do show on the front page.
