How can I add my own content types simply via administrative web forms?
Please see these links
Wordpress - http://pods.uproot.us/
Drupal - http://drupal.org/project/cck
I searched a lot - does Geeklog not have this basic functionality? If there is any paid or commercial/semi-commercial package of Geeklog that does this I will like to know.

Sorry, but from those links I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for. Plugins can add new "content types", if you mean that in the sense of images, files, or even discussions.
If you're looking for a way to extend Geeklog's existing structure, e.g. add your own fields to a story, then that is not possible without custom code.

Sorry, if I was not clear.
I meant any new content types in addition to the existing ones.
The Content Construction Kit allows you to add custom fields to any of the content types using a web interface
For example, I can add "Blog" content type by filling up a form that allows admin to set up a content type and name it as wished for user to input a Title, a Body and as many other fields as wanted. This is a crucial functionality to extend the website. For example,
http://buytaert.net/data-gov-uk-using-drupal[*1] data.gov.uk by Tim Berners-Lee uses the Drupal CCK to extend data of that website.
Are there any plans for this in Geeklog?

Something like this would best be implemented as a plugin. I guess the closest we have to such a plugin would be the nexForm plugin that ships with
nexPro (but can also installed on Geeklog, since nexPro is effectively Geeklog with some additional plugins). Try asking in their support forum whether what you want would be possible with their plugin.

Yes, nextide only offers Drupal support now. If you're looking for the nexPro variant of Geeklog, it is still
available from Google Code[*3] .
