The new features sound awesome, it looks liek GL is going in the right direction (e.g. clean code, and more standards compliancy).

I\'ve moved my web site (which was a basic portal system in and of it self) to GeekLog so I wouldn\'t have to worry about the code so much as the content. However, there are some parts of my site which I can\'t just plop over to GeekLog and I was wondering how easy it will be to code plugins?

I currently have a photo gallery which suits my needs, I am updating it to be more robust and database driven. I was hoping that GL would have an easy to use API by the time 1.3 comes out.

If not, I don\'t mind being Guinea Pig ;)

Naughty Tane! He forgot to mention, 1.3 comes will be coming with *FULL* plugin support. As with all plugins, it will need to fit in with the API standards for plugins, but it will be quite a powerful and expandible feature. Currently, plugins we're testing include:

phpBB Messages
Photo Album
Static Pages

You can expect alot more to be around the corner. Some of the plugins I'm looking at writing myself include:

Instant Messaging
Email Client
Extended Statistics
Extended Voting
Extended Weblinks
Extended Calendar
Downloads Manager
Groupware Documents (with flow control)

Although the groupware one may not occur due to time and system limitations. However, it does give you an idea of the scope Geeklog is going to embrace.
