I completely agree! Webscorpion has been a great hosting company. The tech support responds within hours and they're very accomodating. I had my site crash once and to my delight I found out that the guys there do nightly backups. They recovered my site within a few hours and I only lost a little bit of ground. They're plans are cheap, but the best part is definitely the support.

I don\'t want to start a mudfight, but since Nexus finds it necessary to put prices in here let us compare apples with apples:

Nexus (according to their website):
USD 4/month: 200MB disk space, 2GB monthly traffic
USD 19.95/month: 200MB Disk Space, 10GB monthly traffic

Webscorpion.com:
USD 10/month: 450MB disk space, 6GB monthly traffic
USD 16/month: 800MB disk space, 10GB monthly traffic
USD 25/month: 1400MB disk space, 18GB monthly traffic

I believe we beat Nexus on most other parameters as well. Check us out!

Based on your recommendation, I'm trying webscorpion. But a) their tech support is slower now that I've paid than when I was "pre sales" - I get very terse answers after an 8-12 hour wait, and have to start all over. There's no IRC for more effective support.

b) how do you get GL running? They've got so many restrictions I can't install it with the conf_path separate from the conf_html. In fact I can't get it to run at all, because it complains about open_basedir restriction. Apparently it wants files to live in directories to which I have no write access.
