Hi Guys,

I want to make sure I understand what is going on, because I'm a little worried now. I have anonymous comments allowed on my site. If I update will spammers be able to exploit my site still because I have anonymous comments turned on?

Thanks for all the hard work you all do to provide this free software that has been so valuable to my ministry (HeavenlySanctuary.com).

This patch / update does NOT protect against spam of any sort. It only fixes a bug where it was possible to post anonymously even when anonymous posting was disabled in config.php.

If you allow anonymous posts or if the spammers care to register an account, then the only protection Geeklog currently has is the speed limit.

Tom Willet is working on a Comment Spam plugin, though. Check the forums.
