Geeklog will have its own booth at this year's LinuxTag which takes place in Wiesbaden/Germany from May 3rd to 6th.

LinuxTag, now in its 11th year, touts itself as the world's no. 1 Linux expo and conference. Here's your chance to learn about new open source projects and meet the developers as well as companies using and developing open source software. The exhibition is accompanied by presentations (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) and workshops (Friday, Saturday) on all aspects of open source use and development.

Geeklog users and developers may especially be interested in this workshop.

This is the first time that Geeklog will be present at an exhibition so make sure to spread the word. And don't forget to drop by and say "Hi!" if you get the chance (we're in booth #101).

I'll be manning the Geeklog booth myself on all four days but could use some company. Markus (aka 1000ideen) will be joining me on Friday and Saturday to demonstrate how to do podcasts with Geeklog (plugin currently under development). If anyone would be willing to help out on the first two days (Wednesday and Thursday) - if only for a few hours - that would be great. Please contact me for details.

And a Big Thanks! to the LinuxTag organisers for providing us with a free booth.

[Update 2006-04-08] Added booth number and workshop links.

(This article will be updated when more information becomes available.)

I was not even sure what a flight from Toronto would cost but knew it would not be in-expensive. I appreciate the interest -- but it looks like it would be about $3000.00 and thats if Dirk or Benta were so kind to bunk me up for a few days :)

it'susually much less than 3k (i used to live in transatlantic relationship).
check expedia
not sure what the closest international airport is, but it might be brussels or amsterdam, actually.
a worry would rather be that i don't think wiesbaden is on a major rail line - and that can cause some pain around here.

The next airport is Frankfurt and getting to Wiesbaden from there is not a problem at all.

I can't go anywhere due to my newborn.
But you can crash at my place if you pass Brussels (I am 20 minutes from the airport, which is in between London and Wiesbaden) and I pledge to send over 50 Euro for the flight by moneybookers.

that is for a round trip. it really sounds like you need to go, just for the travel experience alone :-)

just don't stay in frankfurt for too long. there are more interesting towns in europe.

actually, all towns are more interesting than frankfurt. anywhere.

Will you have PowerPoint presentations or any other kind of documentation that could be distrubuted for those who are unable to attend the workshop/conference?

Yeah, I'm preparing a few introductory slides and will make those available for download. Not quite sure yet how the practical part will work out ...

bye, Dirk
