Hi,

I'm confused by all the GL menus.

If I look at my plugins, I have one called Menu v1.2.7.

I also had one which I think was called glmenu, perhaps of French origin (?), and I'd previously used that to make some nice menus below my banner, styled to the same look and feel, and with nested menus within them. All up a complete guide to my site, with about 30 menus and nested menus combined. With my recent jump from GL 1.8 to 2.2.1sr1 I guess that's all history as glmenu is no longer supported I think.

So what is the advice? Use the Menu v1.2.7 mentioned at the top? I've had a quick play but nothing seems to appear anywhere.

And what of the default menus that I got when I first installed GL 2.2.1sr1? Such as Contribute and Advanced Search etc. How do I modify or delete them? Ah, some more digging reveals they are set in the Geeklog config UI under Theme and Menu Elements and I can see my own custom ones through the file system/lib-custom.php as per the nice example in there. Not nested though, alas.

So is this better or should I be working out how to use the Menu plugin?

Thanks for any help.

P.S. I'm using denim_three

The only menu I know that works with Geeklog v2.2 is Menu Plugin v1.2.7.

Unfortunately it has been a while since I have used it so I do not remember much. I do know you have to use autotags to display the menus. So if you want the menu in a block on the right side you would need to create a block for it in the block editor.

I am not sure if the Menu plugin will replace the menu in the header with a nicer one or if you will have to edit the index.html template file and add an menu autotag there.

This will not help you now but when I get some time over the next few months I will take a look at the menu plugin again and make sure everything is working proprerly.

If you find any bugs for the menu plugin be sure to add them in the issue tracker here:
