There are certainly a few factors to consider but I tried opensourcehost in the USA without problems: https://www.opensourcehost.com/mos452/ Yahoo hosting is very complicated. In Germany I use www.planet-hosting.de

I have a few GL sites on HostGator that were installed with Fantastico and learned later that the Fantastico install is kinda sloppy and vunerable.

I hired mevans to sure everything up and I've been good ever since.

Don't know if that helps you any?

I am using Site5 and have been happy with thier service.

And I've heard mevans (mediagallery plugin author) say he was happy with BlueHost and he has an affiliate link on his site if you decided to go with them http://mediagallery.org/

I am very familiar with GL and also run a hosting company.

EZserver.biz

Or shoot me an email adminATezserver.biz and I will answer any questions you have.

As a sort of general rule...

Who you decide to host with should be determined by what your requirements are. This also sort of falls under the category of "You get what you pay for".

For me, when I was starting out, free hosts were out of the question.
I tried several paid hosts, starting with the uber cheap ones and gradually migrating up the cost ladder until I found one which provided a good balance between cost, customer service, and reliability.

All that said, One of the things that I've noticed is that I've never had good luck with a company that has TV commercials - i.e. Yahoo, GoDaddy, etc.

For the last 2 years I've had a reseller account with HostNexus (actually Reseller Nexus, but they've changed their name and I don't remember what they changed it to) and have been very happy.

I think HostNexus is already closed. Couldn't find any site from them already. I think HG or GoDaddy will be a good option here though.
