Plugin installation

Creating a new site powered by Geeklog. Installation process went well; however, when I tried to add my first plugin I encountered the following error:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: ziparchive in /home/xxxxxxx/geeklog-1.7.0/system/classes/unpacker.class.php on line 191

I have tested this load multiple times on my "local" (pc) site, running Windows/WAMPP - but now that I am pushing the site for real - I get the error. Suggestions on what/where to look?

Thanks'

Looking at the code it looks like it is trying to open your plugin zip file using "PECL ZIP". I am not too familiar with this part of Geeklog so I am not sure why it is failing.

There are a couple of ways around this though. You could copy your site from your local pc (since you indicate it is working fine) to your webserver and then use the migrate feature of the install.

BTW when it this failure happening? Is it when you are installing Geeklog and the plugins that come with it or has Geeklog been installed successful and you are trying to install a plugin? (and which one?)

The error is occurring after the successful geeklog installation. I get the error with the filemgmt_1.5.3_1.4.1.zip as well as a homegrown plugin.

Where you able to migrate the site from your pc to your web server?

I haven't tried to migrate. I'd like to determine the cause of the failure.

Alternatively, I will try a manual install; once I find and verify the processes.

Thanks for the assistance.

The manual install worked.

FTP'd files
inserted a row into the plugin table.

Messing with the database shouldn't have been necessary. If the install via upload doesn't work then doing the manual install, i.e. unpack locally, upload to specific directories, should let you run the install from the Admin's plugin page.

And please do submit a bug report for the original issue. I had a quick glimpse at the code and I think I have an idea what the problem might be. But I'm out of town right now and may forget about it before I'm home ...

bye, Dirk
