Fckeditor and image issue

Hi,
Thought the kinks were all worked out but... can anyone can please tell me how to add images to stories with the fckedtior, advanced or otherwise please let me know. I get this error:

The following errors occurred while trying to save your story. Please correct these errors before saving
image #1, welcome_1.jpg, was not used. You must include this image in the intro or body before you can save your changes

eventhough I uploaded the image to the server into a folder that I created, placed the image in the intro and then tried the body of ther story, upon saving the story, and after previewing it, or not, there is no image in my story.

any help appreciated.

The message you get indicates that you were trying to use one of the [imageX] tags in a story, but those are only for Geeklog's built-in image upload function - which is separate from the FCKeditor upload.

To add to the confusion, the image upload through FCKeditor doesn't currently seem to be working properly. At the very least, there's some code missing that would allow FCKeditor to use the <img> tag. That's a known bug. It should work when you allow the <img> tag for story admins as per the FAQ (I hope - Disclaimer: I don't use FCKeditor myself ...).

bye, Dirk

In the config you can also set Skip HTML Filter for Root to true.

the average user of a website such as the one I am working on would be seeking to just upload, via the fckeditor, "ease of use" is what most users will seek.
Is there any probablility of the issue with fckeditor being corrected in the near future?

following your known bug link and upon finding this block of code, were would I place it,
In config.php or lib-story.php?

* Optional HTML Tags that will be enabled if advanced editor is enabled
* Posible to add tags to the allowable general USER $_CONF['user_html'] as well
*/
if ($_CONF['advanced_editor']) {

siteconfig.php should work.

From my current understanding of the issue, our security fix effectively disabled uploads in FCKeditor. Obviously, we would need a solution that's both working and secure but I can't really tell right now how long that would take. There may be an easy fix or maybe it'll require a lot of changes ...

For the other issue (<img> tags being removed), see the various other forum posts for workarounds.

bye, Dirk
