Here's what I want to be able to do: I call a local telephone number from my cell phone. The call is then picked up and recorded basically by digital answering machine. I leave what amounts to a voice message voice mail recording. Then, that digital audio recording is then (automatically) flipped into a block running on Geeklog. Anyone visiting the site can click on the block and hear the message. Newer messages would "push down" older messages. All messages would be identified by date and time. Application - I a news and journalism setting, while I'm out and about I can quickly "call in" a breaking story from my cell phone and rapidly post a voice recording update on a breaking story from the scene of the action. Then later, I can go back to the office, upload photos, text, and videos and publish a "normal" article. There are any number of possible applications for this kind of functionality. Does this exist? Is anyone doing something like this? Any ideas on parts and pieces necessary to make something like this happen on a Geeklog site? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. OK. Evoca looks cool. I signed up, opened an account, etc. But, what I need would be something like an Evoca block or plugin. Something that would allow me to (automatically) post my Evoca (or similar) calls to a block directly and remotely, without me having to do anything at the keyboard. I just make the telephone call, and the recording is available. That's what I'm trying to do.

Anyone doing this in Geeklog, anywhere? Something similar?

Perhaps over here:

Or do a web search for "voice comments", or "voice comments widget".

That's it! Thanks, works like a charm!

I just established a Snapvine account, and copied the code they make available for Myspace into a Geeklog block. Works like a champ. Now, I can call in from anywhere via cellphone and leave a message that anyone can hear. Later, I can edit the title or what have you.

What's more, readers and followers of the webpage can call into my Snapvine account and leave voice messages that I can make available (I think). Well, I think people will be able to hear the comments of others on the Snapvine page, and not on my Geeklog site.

The best part is I can call in and validate several telephone numbers, like my cell phone, office phone number, etc., and they are recognized as "me." So, with that in place my comments are sent directly to the voice blog (and hence, to the Geeklog block, where I want them).

To see it in action, check out http://www.panama-guide.com and you will see the Snapvine widget running in the left column, about halfway down.

Excellent, this is perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much for your help, assistance, and suggestions.
