Hi all,

I hope someone can help me. I am trying to move one of my sites to a hosted server and at the same time upgrade to 1.4.1.
My theme is 3AM Eternal and it is heavily modified through the years.
I would really like to get it working properly. I have several issues at the moment, including png to gifs, which I am slowly fixed under way.

The main problem I have right now is in the story.php, while editing or adding a story.
I am unable to select 'Featured' or 'Not Featured'. This text is outside of the drop down box.
I can select 'Comments enabled' to the left and 'Show on the front page' on the right.

Any idea what code I need to paste here in order for someone to help me?

Is there a guide to update old themes some where?
I have searched for an updated version of this theme, but found none.
I think I copied the new professional theme over my 3AM theme ( I thought I read that had to be done somewhere).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Yep, right there in the documentation.

Hello Dirk,

Thanks for the reply. I read through that already. I was hoping there may have been a migration guide someone had done.

More to my problem:

When I do a view source on the story edit I see the following:
Text Formatted Code
<select name="featured">
                                                <select name="featured">
<option value="1">Featured</option>
<option value="0" selected="selected">Not Featured</option>
</select>

                                            </select>

I wonder if there is a problem with the 'select name=' being there twice ?

I tried to search the story.php in ...geeklog/public_html/admin/story.php, but could not spot this.
Could you give me a hint where this is generated from? I think the 2nd one should be removed (I hope, it is that easy Smile

Perhaps it is not in the theme, but in this story.php.

Thanks again,
Rick

I made a work around by putting the old story.php back into the geeklog/public_html/admin/ folder.

Mixing PHP files from different Geeklog versions is usually a bad idea ... You're "fixing" one problem and open up a host of others.

Dirk,
I understand what you are saying, and I fear that it will cause other problems.
However, I am unable to set new stories as featured.

I must have screwed things up when I copied the professional 1.4.1 into my theme I had from 1.3.11.
I remember from a previous upgrade that we had to do this with old themes.
Perhaps it cannot be done like that now with 1.4.1 because there are too many changes.

Are there any modifications in the admin templates that you need? Usually you should be able to simply copy over the entire admin directory from the Professional theme. Granted, in 1.4.1 a lot of the tables were moved to CSS, so some things may look odd until you fix your CSS. But the functionality should be there.

bye, Dirk
