I developed a static page that allows software developers to easily integrate a version check into geeklog.

By editing one simple array, the script can check versions of multiple programs and direct the users to helpfiles and download pages as well as display a logo for the script.

The main advantage is that the version check result which is triggered from the user's script will be shown inside of the geeklog environment and further browsing the ressources on the script's homepage is easier.

It also reduces one more external file that you might maintain to fulfill this task, and make the function save for homepage-updates since the content is insode the database instead of an external file.
