After creating a story or static page in GL 1.4.1
I save the story, all is well.
When I go back into the edit to the story later, the changes are not saved.

This is while using the advanced editing toolbar which is enabled in my config.php. I've read the article which points out the advanced toolbar file ( storyeditor_advanced.thtml ) needs to be in the appropriate directories. Which it is.

When I use the advanced editor, it doesn't save my edits to a story or a static page.
**IF** I change it to use "HTML Formatted" under the "Post Mode", all of my edits are saves / accepted.

I've searched the forum and didn't find anything applicable.
Has anybody encountered this?

TIA for your help-

Thanks!

Additional information I just discovered:

If I use the 'professional' theme, I don't have this problem. I can use the advanced editor and make / save changes to my story or static page.
If I use the gllabs theme, I'm unable to edit / save changes to a story or static page while using the advanced editor. (HTML is OK, I can edit, but not with the advanced editor selected in the "Post Mode"

Any rhyme or reason to this?

Quad,

Very strange. I just tested the stock gllabs-1.0 theme again (reloaded from scratch) and it appears to be working properly. I can create / edit stories using the advanced editor and it works fine. I also cleared my cache, etc. to be sure I was loading everything from scratch again.

I know you said you were running GL 141, so that shouldn't be an issue. I know the theme will have problems with version of Geeklog prior to 1.4.1. Is there anything 'unique' about the site?

Thanks!
Mark

It seems that its not just the gllabs theme. It seems to happen in the sepia_memory theme I have loaded as well.
The only theme where the adv. toolbar works is with 'professional' The toolbar shows up, you can use it, etc, etc, but saving edits don't save.

I had someone else try to replicate the problem (different state, machine, etc) and they confirmed I'm not loosing my mind. And they have the same issue.

:banghead:

Nothing unique about the site.
All current plug ins, blocks, etc. etc. No custom hacks or mods, or anything.

Well after some additional testing, it seems that the issue is with editing static pages with the advanced editor.
Story editing is OK, and the changes made to a story are saved.
Static pages are not being updated / changes saved when the advanced editor is turned on.

Have tried clearing cache, forms, cookies, etc.
Bahaves the same on a fresh test install as in my existing running environment.

Feel free to comment.

I'm willing to give it a try.

Regards-

That's odd since the static pages plugin has its template files in the plugin directory, so all the themes should use the same templates ...

However, if the theme directory contains a "staticpages" directory, then the templates from that directory are used. So check the non-working themes and if they have such a directory, simply remove it.

bye, Dirk

In all of my themes, I *do not* have a >/gl_root/staticpages folder.
This is what my structure looks like:

/gl_root/plugins/staticpages/templates/admin/
In that dir. I have 'editor.thtml' and 'editor_advanced.thtml'

Nothing strange there.
