Anchors in a forum?

I have a forum with many categories. Is there a way for me to put anchors next to each category so my users can simply click an anchored link from the homepage to their forum?

This will help my users find the forum category that applies to them quickly.

Which file contains the forum data? I suppose you could find that file and put anchors next to each category there, right?

Actually you could just make a block with links to the forums.
