lib-common.php and lib-custom.php

I am in the process of writing a theme switcher, that will when the Admin uses it, switch the theme an anonymous user sees. lib-common contains code for picking and activating a theme. If I write my own custom code in lib-custom.php can I comment out all of the theme related code in lib-common.php?

You could remove the code, but then you'd have to remember to do that after the next Geeklog update, too.
Why not try to make your code compatible with Geeklog's? Set the $_USER['theme'] variable, for example.

So if I leave what is in the lib-common.php but use ( and extend ) it in lib-custom.php, I should be okay?
