I upgraded Geeklog to 1.3.11.sr5 by using first the 1.3.11sr3 update, and then adding the 1.3.11sr5-combo update. I am using PHP 4.4.2, and the whole thing runs under FreeBSD. Before the upgrade, I was running Geeklog 1.3.8-1sr5 (yes, I know) and all was well (working). After the upgrade, image upload to stories fail. Here is the error message I get in error.log after setting $_CONF['debug_image_upload'] = true; in config.php:
Text Formatted Code

Fri May 19 17:30:58 2006 - Debug: Attempting to resize with this command (netpbm): jpegtopnm  '/usr/lo
cal/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/20060519172401315_1.jpg' | pnmscale -xsize=400 -ysize
=302 | pnmtojpeg > /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/tmp.jpg
Fri May 19 17:30:58 2006 - Error: Couldn't copy /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/article
s/tmp.jpg to /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/20060519172401315_1.jpg.  You'll
need remove both files

If I list the files, I see this:
Text Formatted Code

root@hog# ll /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/20060519172401315* /usr/local/ww
w/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/tmp*
ls: /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/tmp*: No such file or directory
-rw-r--r--  1 www  www  46706 May 19 17:30 /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/20060519172401315_1.jpg
-rw-r--r--  1 www  www  46706 May 19 17:30 /usr/local/www/data/geeklog/public_html/images/articles/20060519172401315_1_original.jpg

the directories have correct permissions, as far as I can tell. all the netpbm commands are where they are supposed to be (/usr/local/bin/), and everything works from the shell.
How can I debug this more, in order to find the problem?
Note: stories without images works without problems. I have seen the threads here, but they all talk about PHP 4.4.1 (or are "user error") related. I searched on Google, but didn't come up with anything. Hints, anyone?

Turns out this was "user error" as well. Some times you don't see things that are right in front of your own eyes.
It is not enough to set $_CONF['path_to_netpbm'] = '/usr/local/bin/';, you need to uncomment the line as well. Doh!
