Moving Site to Root from Subdomain

I wonder if anyone can advise please as this is sending me potty. I have spent the past few days setting up a new Geeklog site from the ground up, using 1.4.0sr2 (or rather, sr1 through a Fantastico install in Cpanel, then upgraded to sr2, then added in the plugins). Thinking that I was being clever, I installed all this in a subdomain (home) so that I could be sure everything was working before switching off the old holding page and setting up a redirect.

However, I have now hit a problem - whenever I go to the url for my Geeklog installation, it redirects to reveal my hosting account

eg

type in www.site2.com/home and it changes to site2.site1.com/home Banging your head

I am using a Cpanel based system with Site2 an Addon to the main Site1 account. I have now discovered that apparently it is not possible to have subdomain for an addon domain (not sure why). Doh! - that was a mistake

The strange thing is, if I log in, I get the "white page" problem but by clicking on the logged on user "admin", it brings up www.site2.com/home and works from then on.

Now - 2 options.

Plan A - Someone here knows how to stop it revealing site2.site1.com/home - it would be greatly appreciated if you could reveal all please. Its a deal - shaking hands

Plan B - move the Geeklog installation into the root - if I do this, am I right in thinking that if I change the urls in the Config.php file, all other links will be relative to this and the site should work as normal? I have not entered much content yet, having installed GL 1.4.0sr2, FAQMan, Filmgt and Forum plug-ins and changed the theme, though this is still a lot of work which I don't really have the time to do again!

Many thanks

Your plan B sounds good, f you have shell access this is pretty easy. Just be sure to edit config.php and lib-common.php so the paths are correct.

I use cPanel and have subdomains on an addon domain.
