Hey I have installed the user list hack that Dirk posted somewhere in these forums. The userlist displays a list of all the member for those that are logged in. It has been working flawlessly for me up until recently. For some reason new registered members are not showing up in the user list but they do show up in the Admin user's list.

I don`t find that user list hack.

I was looking for something like user.view permission.

It is a bit silly in an alumni site that only the user admins can see all the users. They want to have contact amongst each other to, see who is listed etc. Up to now this would only be possible with phpBBB.

Hi, I have added the profile.user right to my site.
Using this hack, you can assign users ore groups to view the profile.
I think if you fork the process, you can show simle user profile to all logged-in user and detailed profile to certain group.

Off course, you can use this sort of thing to userlist.php by Dirk.

1. add profile.user to gl_features
(I recommend to use MySQL admin or like that)
2. add the following code to users.php around line 95.

if (!SEC_hasRights('profile.user')) {
$retval = COM_refresh ($_CONF['site_url']);
return $retval;
}

@Jordi: Thanks, I was looking for such a list. Maybe it needs some updating to look like the normal user-admin list with sortable headlines.

I already noticed your alumni site and this "SuggestionBox". Would you mind posting the code for it? Sorry, I can`t help you with problem.

@sakata: I tried your hack but I don`t know what it meant to happen afterwards. I see the permission profile.user but what does it do?

Hi,
I meant profile.user permission to check access right to see profiles.
My hack refuses access to user profile page without profile.user permission.
(I want to print error message like 'no access rights' but I don't know how to do it.)

If this is what you want, just forget it Razz

Thanks, I found the block and understood the profile.user permission.

I think the userlist should become integrated and get the design of the admin user list. What would be useful to be displayed?

User name, real name, email-form, and maybe website if supplied. What do you think?
