Question about general function

Here is the basic need I have....

I want to take a custom, css built template that I have, and use geeklog to dynamically create pages from it, while allowing the end user a simple way to update the content. That is all.....I have found apps such as Wordpress get a little messy when you want to your EXACT template with their system....the code gets messy and doesn't work as well as if you used their templates.

Has anyone set up a site that has basically a home page and 5 different sub sections, and entered those 6 templates into geeklog and got it to work correctly?

I'm working on something like that, and will use the Chameleon hack to change the templates. The only differences between the templates in my project are the header-images and some background images, so perhaps I'll use the easier workaround which is available somewere as far as I can remember. This will call only a different stylesheet for each topic.

A less invasive method (than the Chameleon hack) is outlined here.
