EasyFile Write Access

Emil

Anonymous
Ok, so I am having a problem when trying to upload a file-

"Unable to create the file. The disk might be full, or you might not have write access to the file store. Please contact your administrator."

I AM the administrator, and I don't know what the problem is. Do I change the File Permissions? Which File(s) to what permission.

Thank You.

Easyfile was unable to move the uploaded file into your filestore. Try setting go+xw on your filestore.

Ok...it is a little annoying how people say stuff like that. I am not a beginner, however not a advanced user, so please explain what you mean. What is it? How do I do it?

The filestore is the directory where the files are stored by the plugin (outside the web root typically). If you dont recall where that was, just lookup up the config.php of the plugin.

Lets say its /var/filestore for now. Then on a linux box you would need to issue the following command according to Kelvin:

chmod go+xw /var/filestore

Cheers!

Point taken. Sorry, I didn't mean to be unclear. Ajay explained it perfectly. The problem is that the web server doesn't have write access to your filestore, so if you relax the file system permissions on that directory everything should work. Hope this helps.
