Just released, the Paypal plugin for Geeklog provides e-commerce functionality for Geeklog through Paypal. The current release, 0.1, supports both "buy now" and shopping cart functionality catered to digital content. For more information, see the Paypal Plugin Product Page (includes a more detailed description and screen shots). Shoot me an email if you have any questions.

Will there be a way to not force someone to login to buy?

I'm working on that for the next version of the plugin. The problem of course is that without a login Geeklog won't know for sure who they are. My current plan is to email digital goods to the paypal verified email address upon purchase and from there have the plugin maintain a list of anonymous buyers' email addresses that the seller can use to communicate any updates and track purchasers.

Look for such a feature in 0.2 or 0.3. Probably something like a month away.

I manually emailed you your password. According to my logs a password email was sent. It probably got caught by a SPAM fitler somewhere.

Actually it must have been delayed because I got the password but you must have changed it, now I don't have that. I'll just wait for your new email.

This plugin has the same intent as eCommerce (selling stuff), but it natively supports Geeklog. This has several benefits to an integration (which is what the eCommerce for Geeklog is). The primary benefit is that the plugin benefits from using Geeklog's built in system of User and Group security to secure the entire transaction process. It also alows for a smoother installation and (in my opinion) easier administraion and maintanence.

eCommerce does have some advantages in number of features over this plugin, mostly due to its higher level of complexity.

P.S. I hope you finally got logged onto the site. To manually send your password I had to change it as unencrypted passwords aren't available to use Geeklog admins. Smile
