I highly doubt this is a Geeklog problem but any suggestion are very welcome.

Our site seems to be working great but for some reason the couple of users that have Verizon e-mail addresses are not receiving any site E-mail including new user Passwords and such. All other users have no problem.

Our site is hosted at pair and I have no reason to believe our domain has been blacklisted.

Your help is appretiated!

Try switching to SMTP for sending the emails.

Now I do not know if this is the problem.

I have seen some ISP's deny email coming from any dynamic IP block. I know this is the dumbest form of spam filtering but if your IP is in a dynamic range even if it is not dynamic ISP's like this will just deny all of your email traffic.

I only know this because there is a local ISP that does this and I can not email any of their users via my domains on my colo box.

Stupid if you ask me. This may not be your issue but I appreciated the oppertunity to vent about our local idiot ISP.

Cheers Blah Blah Blah Blah ...

Some of the ISP have installed strange mail systems (such as NeoMail). These mail systems unfortunately are recognizing emails from the site as the emails with wrong headers. They move emails into basket or simply delete them.

I know, it is not anything wrong with mail header, but … Maybe changing email filters in personal settings at the ISP can help this problem, but be prepared, that the amount of the spam mails coming into inbox will be increased too.

Thanks Dirk! This appeared to work but we have one new problem. It appears the SMTP account I am using must limit the number of E-mails sent per connection at less than 20. I cannot use Pair.com's SMTP because it requires a "Pull" in order to "Push". Using my service providers SMTP server (Comcast) I run into this new issue.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Thanks for all the help!

You may have a problem with AOL users as well. I have had to put a disclaimer on my site suggesting to AOL users get a third party email address from Hotmail, Yahoo etc.

Man I hate Spammers. They just make the rest of our lives so much more difficult!

Anyway I am trying "sendmail" in the config.php. It works but I need to see if the folks with Verizon get the message. I am waiting to here back and will let everyone know what I find out.

Looking at the header differences between "mail" and "sendmail" it looks like the primary differance is in the "Return-path" it looks like "mail" inserts an "anonymous@yourserver" email address where using "sendmail" it appears to uses $_CONF['site_mail']. I am somewhat hopeful that this will make a difference but I don't know yet.

This appears to have fixed my problem with Verizon. The "Return-path" difference between "mail" and "sendmail" appears to be causing the problem with Verizon.

I am a relative newbie so I don't know if this needs to be reported somewhere as a change request or bug. If someone could give me a pointer I will do the rest.

Thanks for everyone's input!
