I have seen this done with a few other CMS programs and I wanted to know if it is possible with geeklog:

A person posts a thread on your forum(plugin) and then when the thread gets really popular you promote it to the front page and you post it as a story but its actually the thread that was promoted from the forum. It would keep the same comments.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Blaine's forum has a story to forum migration utility... maybe possible to 'reverse engineer' it to do the opposite.

Here's my thoughts on a possible way to do it.
1) you need a button or something that says 'promote to front page'
2) when button is clicked, the forum thread number and id is added to a database table.
3) on your front page, you have a static php block that displays the conent of that forum and id.
Exactly what you'd have to pull in in #3 I don't know, and I'd guess you'd have to sort out the formatting etc within the php static page.
