Hi there, is it possible just to have one user to sign up to Geeklog and then to get rid of the ability for others to register or to post, I know this is a bit of a contradiction considering the normal function of Geeklog but I just want to use it as my main website for my daughter and I.

Thanks.

There are multiple ways to go about this. The easiest and probily the fastest way is to just enter bad. or wrong smtp server in the config file,

Or you could just add a simple htaccess / password entry in your apache directory, depending on how you are going to use the site.

Then noone will be able to send an email to the admin-dad or daughter or email a stroy to someone else.

You could set new user submission to queue:
$_CONF['usersubmission'] = 1;

Then even if someone signs in you have the last word and disapprove user submission.

I have to agree with Robin - disabling the email isn't a very sensible option to chose.

In addition to switching on the user submission queue, you could also hide the "User Functions" block from anonymous users (uncheck the "Anonymous R" checkbox for that block). This block displays the login form when you're not logged in.

To be able to login yourself then, go to http://example.com/users.php (save it as a bookmark).

bye, Dirk
