'Owner' on Links not working correctly

I've just noticed that the 'Owner' of a Link that has been submitted to my website will always show 'Anonymous' after I 'Accept' the Link (and then I go into it to Edit it). Yet, these links ARE being submitted by Registered Users. The code simply isn't showing the correct 'Owner' for each Link. I also noticed that if I submit a Link, using a 'registered username' that doesn't have 'full' privledges on the site, and then I log back in as a admin, if I Edit the link before I 'Accept' it, the 'Owner' is shown as ME (my admin username), rather than the correct 'Owner' (the username under which it was created and submitted).

Also, the links are defaulting to allow anyone to see them (including Anonymous Users). Is there a way to set the 'defaults' for who can see and/or edit these links, rather than having to change each and everyone, as it's submitted/accepted (I don't want Anonymous Users to see these links, only 'Registered' Users of a certain 'User Group').

As far as limiting viewing of links to registered users only, it's right there in config.php:

Change from
$_CONF['linksloginrequired'] = 0;
to
$_CONF['linksloginrequired'] = 1;

Yes, I see what you mean.

Now, if I can figure out why the 'Owner' isn't being set correctly.

Back in config.php, what is your setting for "$_CONF['linksubmission']"?
1 or 0?

And did you put any people inside the group called "Link Admins"?
Speaking of which, is there actually a way to make every registered user part of this group by default (or any other originally none default group - by default, for that matter)?

LinkSubmission is set to '1'.

And only the Admins (including myself) are part of the Link Admins Group.

Someone once told here that with link submission set to "on", it's as if the user only "suggests" the link and the admin is the one who actually posts it and therefore has HIS/HER name on it.

Can anyone confirm this?

Geeklog's link submission queue simply doesn't store who submitted the link.

Sounds like a case for a feature request ...

Ok. So, basically, LWC is correct - if I am not letting Registered Users actually 'post' the link, then when I 'approve' the link and it is 'submitted' by me, then that's why it shows my Username as the one who 'submitted' it. That makes sense.

Yes, it would be nice to know who actually 'submitted' a link, by looking at the 'Owner' name.

Thanks.
