i am using forum v2.3 on my site at www.thatwasBS.com and was wondering how you would go about making every other post in a thread a different color.... like you guys have set up here.... is there way to box each post? If so I would like to know how....

The easiest way to understand would be to look at an existing forum theme that does this.

<shamelessplug>You could check out the theme I wrote that does this. Specifically, look at the topic.thtml file.</shamelessplug>

Support for alternating colors is build-in. Just tweak your CSS

/* alternate table row colours */
.forumAlt1 { background-color: #F5F5F5; }
.forumAlt2 { background-color: #FFFFFF; }

Try layout/XSilver/forum/additional-forum.css

tried creating that file... putting it in that directory, with the code blaine posted above... didnt work.... if someone could post a link, or send me the exavt code (all of it) that would need to be in style.css or aditional-forum.css files, it would be appreciated, or email it to me at admin@thatwasBS.com

I actually wouldnt mind it looking exactly like this forum, since I am using the xsilver theme, this looks pretty good.

Did you follow the installation instructions and copy the content of the additional-forum.css file into your style.css file?

It would look exactly like this if it was installed correctly. All the steps are explained in the install_doc.
