Changing the comments to nested by default was easy enough in the config.php file, but now everyone who has registered up to this point has their preferences set to view comments as threaded. Is there a way I can turn off the user option to choose how comments are viewed or a way I can change another users settings? I'm trying to avoid having all of my users have to go in and change it individually.

Issue an update statement for the correct value in the db.

I feel like an idiot for asking, but where is the database?

Hmm, let me put it this way: The database is managed by MySQL. Geeklog talks to MySQL and MySQL then stores or retrieves the data, as requested.

So if you want to make any changes to the database, you have to talk to MySQL. This can either be done directly (by logging into MySQL and issuing SQL requests) or you could use a front end, like phpMyAdmin.

bye, Dirk
