Hi!
Does somebody know where to change the design of the journal plugin?
Especially the lines in the entries overview don't fit to my design.

The journal plugin was one of the first plugins to work with Geeklog and was done long before we started using HTML templates so, unfortunately, the only way to change anything is directly in the PHP code.
The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

Use THEMike's fork in the project.

How do you d/l something through CVS? Is this the only journal type plugin out there for GL?

1st click on a file version number.
Then you will see
File: [cvs] / fbglplugins / Journal / journal.cfg (download)
Right click on download and save link to disk.

CVS?

See the instructions here - replace "geeklog-1.3" with "journal".

User "THEMike" has created another version of that plugin. Try searching for it ...

Ok...with the 012 version of the journal plugin installed(from this site)...and user THEMikes updated code in hand...do I just overwrite the current code on my server? Where does the TEMPLATE directory go...and since the install.php has been modified...do I re-run it?

Thanks,
Nytephal

The (actually) templates dir contains a subdir called journals. Copy journals to your layout dir.

I tried overwriting all of the journal files with TheMikes files. I get a parse error when I do this...I think there aer 2 new rows added in SQL. When my site was in this state of limbo, I couldn't run the install.php via http://mysite/my/path/to/install.php. Why?

How should I proceed?

First of all you should stick to one distribution of the plugin. I haven't done any deep investigation but themike's version is different from Tony wrote. Also there are missing moods files etc. I'd say it's still under development and I guess you use it at your own risk
