I was looking for a "lighter" alternative to Gallery and came across Mig (My Image Gallery). It doesn't have as many features as Gallery but it's easy to install. And, best of all, it's also easy to integrate with Geeklog :-)

So I quickly hacked something together to integrate Mig 1.3.8 into Geeklog. Please note that this hack has only been tested with that version. It should be easy to adapt to other versions, though.

You can download the hack here.

bye, Dirk

Mig has a way to password-protect folders, but it doesn't tie in with Geeklog's security model.

Be patient. The Geekary is coming soon. I've almost finished v1.0. Good work on the integration.

Dan Lowe, the author of Mig, has just released a new beta version (1.4.0rc2) of Mig which now includes the above changes. So once the official version 1.4.0 is released, Mig will support Geeklog integration "out of the box". bye, Dirk

Dan Lowe, the author of Mig, posted the following on the Mig mailing lists. Anyone interested?

I've finally come to the realization that I simply don't have the time to properly maintain Mig anymore. I try to keep up with smaller things (bug fixes that take a few minutes; answering questions on the lists), but any real work waiting to be done on Mig is just sitting there for months on end never being dealt with.

As such, if you have any interest in taking over the project, please contact me. I don't want to just ditch it entirely if someone else is willing to take it over from me.

Please reply privately if you have an interest. Thanks.

-dan

Well, it took a while, but Mig 1.4.0 is now officially out.

It has built-in support for Geeklog and works just fine with 1.3.9rc2 (the Mig documentation actually mentions 1.3.6 and lists geeklog.sourceforge.net as the Geeklog homepage Mr. Green
