I have installed geeklog ( not live yet ) I have been testing everything - The only thing that is not working and I can't figure out - When trying to update a user's password or account information (ie name, website url) the information does not go through - I can change the password through the admin control feature or if I use the"forget password" email - that will change the email

What exactly does "does not go through" mean?

Do you mean that you change the settings and when you get back to the form, it still displays the old values? If so, are you using Mozilla (or any of its "relatives")? Mozilla often stores the contents of web forms and the next time you call up the same form again, it overwrites the current contents with what it stored previously. In that case, the contents in the database will be updated, but Mozilla will still display the old contents.

If, however, the database is not updated, then please make sure you have register_globals = on.

I am using IE 6 - As far as the register_globals=on - I am running this on a hosted webserver not my own - so I cannot see the register_globals -
But I do not get the message that is supposed to write to the screen in red font if the register_globals=off on the installation pages

Also - I can update anything else throughout the site - I can change the password through the email change password function - And I can change any user information only through the admin login - just not updating through the user profiles page
