I am sorry if this topic is getting old, but I have been through every post related to the login problem and I am guessing that I need specific info about how to set up $CONF['site_url'] and $CONF['cookiedomian'] for my particular server. I am having the same problem as I have seen on many posts here. The installation seems to go just fine and my geeklog site appears fine in my browser. When I attempt to log in as Admin, I am returned to the login page, though the page indicates that both "Admin" and "guest user" are "online".

First let me assure you that I have confirmed that register_globals is ON and that my browser accepts cookies.

1) I am running a clean install of Mac OS 10.2 server. I am locating the geeklog installation at the server's root directory, /geeklog.
2) The website documents, those copied from public_html directory, are located at /Library/WebServer/Documents/geeklog
3) I wish to view the site, for the time being, only locally and consequently to open it in a browser, the url is the internal ip, 192.163.123.111/geeklog... However, when I enter that URL the URL that appears in the address field of the browser is
http://server.local:16080/geeklog

Given these three facts about my particular set up, is there someone out there who could possibly tell me precisely what to enter for:

1) $_CONF['path_html']
2) $_CONF['site_url']
3) $_CONF['cookiedomian']

The "server.local" is the MacOS Rendezvous name of your machine. I'm not sure what's the best way to get rid of this, but for the time being, setting

ServerName localhost

in /etc/httpd/httpd.conf works for me. With that setting, I don't even need to set the cookiedomain variable.
