Download the journal from here: http://www.geeklog.net/filemgmt/visit.php?lid=50
Before installing it, update all the files using CVS which can be located here: http://cvs.geeklog.net/chora/cvs.php/journal.

I have the journal plugin running on gl1.3.8-1sr2 without a hitch.

One question i have about it though.. (Dirk are you there?) Is there a way to limit the # of posts that show up in the journal block and also organize them by date, so that the most recent public journal appears at the top of the block? (similar to Blaine's forumpost block).

The block currently lists all journals and then picks the most recent post for each of them. You would have to play around with the SQL requests in function phpblock_journal in the functions.inc to change that ...

Thanks, but since I'm an idiot, could you help me with the CVS; I've never used it before, but I would really like to get the journal plugin working. I have tried it with GL 1.3.8r3, but get SQL errors. Essentially, it hoses my whole GL system. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

To get the latest version via CVS, enter the following in a terminal window:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@geeklog.net:/usr/cvs/geeklog login

password is: geeklog

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@geeklog.net:/usr/cvs/geeklog co journal

Voila!
