After playing arround with some other CMS based engines, here are some things I still would like to see with Geeklog 2. 1. Complete HTML seperation for code. The current releases still have the "core" files contain html. 2. Caching. While Geeklog is still one of the fastest out of the box Engines available (even with all its great features turned on) . Adding a core lib / api to check when last change, if not see built prefetch query. While on really busy sites, this would be pointless, on smaller sites that dont not see a lot of traffic, would still be a great feature 3. Forum intergration. Run a complete forum inside geeklog, and extend the comments table 4. SMTP fake mail send, a boon to everyone who doesnt have their mail server (or vhost) 5. GPL, GPL GPL. !!! While the code base on 1.3 is gpl. Please make 2.X gpl'd as well. I know its a lot of work, and everyone deserves credit where credit is do, but licensed software leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. 6. Mod Header. API. Instead of calling external php scripts by overriding the template engine and directly inserting the code into html (um, yeah whats the point again? of templating) add a api to call external functions (mods) that should run in the header at page generation. This would allow moders to add custom elements to their templates without having to play with the various core files, or placing code

How would that be different from a Forum plugin / module?

A solution for this problem may come earlier than Geeklog 2.

As has already been said, that is almost certainly not going to happen. What would be wrong with, say, a BSD style license? bye, Dirk
