After failing to get to sleep with my vanishing menu problem I hit upon a make shift solution. Dual menus. If you visit iggy.us with IE (Mac/Windows), Netscape (Mac) or Chimera (Mac) you will see "Reader Options" in the menu. Visit iggy.us with Netscape (Windows) or Safari (Mac) and you see "User" in the menu. It appears I can customize the menu for different browsers -- including permission settings! I don't know how this "functionality" arose but I had just finished a static page in IE (Mac) and was going to add it to the menu. But when I hit the Menu Editor link that's when the menu vanished and I ended up with this "functionality." Of course, I don't want this functionality! Iggy

I've also had my Menu (latest version of the Menu plugin) disappear completely from my site for no apparent reason. The block just shows up empty, even though all the data is there in the database. Only an uninstall / fresh install fixes it. If you find a fix, please do post it!

Working with Iggy I found out the problem. See this Forum comment on Gplugs. This may be the reason for some other weird problems.
