I got the following error when I do a search or click on the link from Site Clendar block. 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1 And the following is from the error log. Wed Jan 8 03:02:11 2003 - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1 SQL in question: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM A similar situation was posted here before. Dirk's answer was because there was no story posted. But in my case I do have several posted, and still encounter this error. I am using GL 1.3.7. Sam

There should be the name of a table after the "FROM". I've seen a quite a few reports like this recently. Is there some version of a plugin or hack around that is notorious for the omission of the table name when it's not installed properly? AFAICS, this is not a problem of Geeklog but one with some add-on that you installed on your site. Not sure which one, though ... bye, Dirk

Dirk, Where in the world do you live? It is 3 a.m. in NY now. Do you ever sleep? I came back without expecting an answer posted so soon. Anyway, I am rebuilding a geeklog site, so I will test it will every plugin I am going to install and report it to you. Sam

Disable the plugins 1 by 1 to find the source of the problem. If you are doing a search on all types or using the SiteCalendar block search, then it does a search of type all. This will automatically call all plugin search functions. You can try isolating the source by testing each search type individually. I uploaded a revised 1.3.7 version of the search.php for SiteCalendar on mysite a few days ago. Blaine

I erased the search plugin function entirely from the search.php. Would be nice in a future release to have the ability to disable search within selected plugins. My problem was with the journal plugin which does not allow searches of private journals but the search.php tried to do it anyway. Rather then recode the journal plugin I just fixed the search.php...---the c0w says: m00

After installing Contact plugin. Any idea how to fix that? Sam

Sure get the updated functions.inc from cvs for the contact plugin. I would give you the right link but sourceforge cvs appears to be down. Go to Gplugs and follow the cvs link. You might also look at this story.

As Fraggle suggested, I commented out the search plugins functions from the search.php and now it works fine. Sam

Is there a place where I can find instructions on how to work with CVS? I have never apply one even though I have heard so much talk about it. Sam

You can also turn off the integrated contact search in the contact config.php. CVS is easy for one file like this just browse cvs till you find the file you want, then view and copy and paste it. No cvs client required. TomW
