After upgrading to sr2 and moved to a new host, I have several problems: I can't log in using users.php (works with admin/index.php) Can't save edit old stories or create new. (no error message, like I pressed cancel) Can't post comments. file_uploads is 1 and register_globals is on Thanks, øs

No idea about the login problem, but the problem with editing and posting stories has been discussed several times before. See here for a workaround.

Since you switched hosts it looks like your new hosting service is running a different setup than your old one. If you could figure out the differences and what exactly causes the editing of stories to not work, we would be very grateful since this seems to be a common problem (though it really seems to be a problem with the server setup).

bye, Dirk

It would be a start - especially if you could get both the info from your old and new hosts. bye, Dirk

This won't make a difference. As I said, it's almost certainly a problem with the server setup, not with Geeklog. bye, Dirk

Looks like some of the problems were just related to an error in the config file. $_CONF['site_url'] was set to http://domain and not to http://www.domain. I din't know this was a problem as long as I always visited the proper address. (smells like dns) ø.s

Also the session settings were probably incorrect. When returned to the default, everything worked Smile So, it looks like my problems were related to two things :: The $_CONF['site_url'] was incorrect and the session setting was incorrect too.. ø.s

I am having a "Can't Login" problem, similar to yours here. When I try to login from index.php it puts back to anonymous and sais there are 2 users logged in. One Guest User and the User I logged in as. I think there might be a "fully qualified hostname" issue here. I am using a dynamic DNS. Do I have to setup a fully qualified hostname setup? Thanks, M@

use the default config file .. if it still there, its maybe a dns problem. I dont have dynamic dns, but the site is on a shared host ø.s
