Introducing the blog plugin, an implementation of the Blogger API for Geeklog.

What does this mean? It means that you can now post stories on your Geeklog site through a Blogger client (an appplication that lets you compose your posts offline).

And it doesn't stop there: It lets you post Forum topics, Static Pages, Journal entries, and FAQ entries, too. All tied in to Geeklog's permission system, of course. You can also restrict usage to members of certain groups and allow posting to the forum but not stories, etc.

But (there just had to be a "but" ...) here's the catch: This plugin is not free software ...

This will probably upset a few people, but you will have to pay for this plugin. It's released as a shareware / donationware hybrid, i.e. you can download it for free and use it - without any restrictions - for a reasonable amount of time. If you find it useful and continue to use it, you are expected to pay whatever it seems worth to you (suggested are $5 for private and non-commercial use, $20 for commercial use).

The plugin is only available from http://geeklog.info/blog-plugin/. The documentation is available online there, as well as a support forum and a forum for your test posts (both forums require registration).

bye, Dirk
