Rude Colors theme released

I didn't feel like coding today, so I created my second theme instead. It's called Rude Colors because it's simple, but, well, colorfull :-)

Disclaimer: I'm not an artist, so I had to steal the color scheme from someone called auroraDesg.

The theme is still a bit rough (only worked on it for about 3 or 4 hours), so please let me know if you find any problems with it.

Have fun.

bye, Dirk

I was just reading MSNBC today and noticed that Geeklog is a featured weblog resource. That speaks volumes about the credibiility and quality of GL. http://www.msnbc.com/news/809307.asp

I'm a dedicated user and have been thoroughly impressed with the strong community and quality coding standards that have been used in development. Guys like Tony, Dirk, Blaine, Squatty, Mr. GxBlocks, Matt from Geeksta (and the list goes on) have done tremendous work in making GL such a great system.

Thanks to everyone and keep up the good work!

While installing the final 1.3.6 Geeklog I put together a little tool that I thought I would share. It is a web based editor for config.php. Like my earlier web database editor dbedit, it requires no changes to your geeklog install. Just drop the file in the admin directory and access with http://your.site/admin/cedit.php.

You can download it directly here or from my Geeklog page at the Pigstye.

It can only be accessed by a user with root privileages.

Enjoy

Well, what can I say? It's official, Geeklog 1.3.6 is finally out. Go and download it here and read about the changes here.

The final 1.3.6 even has two new features over 1.3.6rc1 (image scaling and using a static page as the site's front page). Also, the Clean and Gameserver theme are back on board.

Unless something unexpected turns up, we will be releasing Geeklog 1.3.6 this weekend. The site will be updated first, followed by the release shortly thereafter.

This story will be updated accordingly ...

Update 1: The site has now been updated. Please report any problems you may experience ...

Update 2: It's out - and I decided to write a new story for the release announcement.

bye, Dirk

Hey guys,
In light of GeekLog not having its own forum of any sort to speak of, I have been working with Mr. GxBlock to create one that is integrated right into GL. So far a lot has been done on this project and its development has already reached a status of completion to be considered a forum. lol.
Actually, a lot of features have been added so far. Here is a list of some of them:

I've had this theme lying around for some time now and noticed a few of the users on my site have this set as their theme.

It's now available to the public here (that's unfound.net/keylime.tgz).

I created this little tool to make it easier to edit the Geeklog Database. From the README:

DBEdit is a small powerfull editor for the the Geeklog Database. It has been tested on Geeklog 1.35 and 1.36 and should work on other versions also.

CAUTION: this editor performs no checks or transforms on your data. It will allow you to edit/change anything except primary keys.

MussX is my second theme... it didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it but it will do ... it has a Nintendo type pixelart look to it.

Anyway you can view and download it here
