I am currently developing Eclipse, a new modern theme designed specifically for the Geeklog CMS.

The first public version will initially support Geeklog 2.1.1 only. I am starting with this version to build and test the theme on a stable foundation before considering support for newer Geeklog releases.

Eclipse aims to modernize both the public website and the daily content-management experience while preserving Geeklog’s native structure and workflows.

Planned features

The first versions of Eclipse are expected to include:

• A modern and fully responsive layout.
• Optimized displays for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
• Light and dark color modes.
• Customizable color palettes and typography.
• A dedicated Theme Studio for visual customization.
• Responsive previews for different screen sizes.
• Contrast indicators to help improve readability.
• Customization history and restoration options.
• Local theme update management.
• Improved presentation of articles, blocks and editorial content.
• A cleaner writing and story-editing experience.
• A redesigned administration interface.
• Modern Command and Control cards.
• Improved usability and accessibility as development priorities.
• Support for Geeklog’s native right-hand administration blocks.
• Possible management and customization of the main navigation menu.
• Content-sharing tools for social networks.
• Compatibility with Geeklog’s existing content and administration structure.

Eclipse is still under active development, so this list may evolve before the first release.

Your feedback is welcome

I would like Eclipse to respond to the real needs of the Geeklog community.

Which features would be most useful to you? Are there specific parts of the public theme, story editor or administration interface that should receive priority?

I would also like to know which Geeklog versions you currently use and which versions Eclipse should support after the initial Geeklog 2.1.1 release.

I use the latest version of Geeklog which is 2.2.2, I hope you eventually support that.

Eclipse 1.0.0 is now available and supports both Geeklog 2.1.1 and 2.2.2, with PHP 5.6 through 8.1.

The theme includes the light and dark variants, five accessible color palettes, several navigation styles and the built-in Theme Studio for customization and updates.
