Story titles only on GL 2.0

I'd like to have only the story titles listed on the front page (except featured stories, leave those as full articles). I went back to when I was using GL 1.x and wanted to do this, unfortunately that tweak doesn't appear to work on version 2, seems to just ignore the new template referenced. Is anyone aware of how to produce this effect?
