Shadon on Professional Theme Border

I am trying to get a white background with left and right shadows onto the professional theme. The css below works, except that when the site only stretches partially down the screen, the background and shadows are seen to continue to the bottom. How can I get it to stop when the body stops? Forever grateful for anyone's help.

Text Formatted Code
body {
  width:1000px;
  background:#EBFFFF url(/layout/amberwood/images/bg.png) top repeat-y;
  color:#000000;
  font:0.8em arial,verdana,tahoma,helvetica,sans-serif;
  padding:0px;
  margin:0px auto;
  border:1px solid #000000;
  padding-left:1px;
  padding-right:1px;
}

Thanks for the reply.

It dIdn't seem to work. Also, I can't seem to get the background-shadow to extend past the sides of the body. It is being clipped. This seems especially difficult to pull off.

About shadow, you can create one with purepro theme. See the shadow theme.

You can create our own theme and change header, footer and background color, and also change menu style.

On the Body tab choose:

Background image: Fixed Grey background content + Light shadow OR Fixed White background content + Dark shadow
Background repeat: Repeat-y
Background position horizontal: center
Background position vertical: Not set

I tried this last night because I saw a theme that looked suitable for me. But I was unable to edit it. Also, modifying it was difficult.

Did you find the link to edit your theme? The link is on the theme number in the left column
Did you get an error message ?
