Size Limit on gl_stories

curious
Good morning. My client is trying to post a very long story, and it's being truncated with no error messages.

I think it's possible that the issue is th bodytext field in the gl_stories database, which is data type TEXT, and thus has a limit of approximately 65,000 bytes.

Would changing the data type to MEDIUMTEXT resolve this issue and more importantly, would it cause any other problems?

GL 1.5.2

Thanks, Mike

You can do that. Geeklog won't mind.

Depending on how big the story is, you may run into size limitations in other software, though. For example, your browser, the webserver, and PHP all have limits for the max. size of POST requests.

bye, Dirk

For the limit,
Text Formatted Code
 [staticpage_content;id]
is very useful, I guess.
