Some geeklog plugins (mediagallery, paypal plugin, filemgmt...) upload images to public folders. With automatic plugin update there might be issues as archive upload delete (replace) the plugin folders.

So, what is the best place within geeklog to store images for plugins? public_html/images?

The plugin should probably have its own images directory, e.g. pluginname/images

Yes but when you make an "automatic" update, by uploading a new plugin archive, all images uploaded by users or admin will be lost. No Confused:
