I moved (manually, not with migrate function) my site to a new server, and now the timezone displayed in the welcome message is messed up. The site lists the time as:
Thursday, February 18 2010 @ 03:08CET
The server has the correct time, date and timezone set on it (-6 GMT), and my other web apps reflect this (webmin, phpmyadmin, etc). I tried using the timezone hack, but GL still displays CET.
I'm using XAMPP Linux 1.7.3a:
on a SuSE Linux 10 box.

You forgot to mention the Geeklog version. If it's 1.6.1, check the timezone setting under "My Account".
Also see the wiki article on Timezone Support.
bye, Dirk

That was it. I don't usually mess with the My Account settings and didn't even know there was a timezone setting there.
Thanks again, Dirk!
