An error has occurred:
2 - file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/jhead) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/albemarleweb.com/httpdocs:/tmp) @ /var/www/vhosts/albemarleweb.com/httpdocs/admin/plugins/mediagallery/cfgedit.php line 329
I can not find any files named "jhead", nor any folders within a path ' /usr/bin/jhead' although I do find the path '/usr/bin/jhead' in the cfedit.php file I have not the foggiest idea of what the correct path is supposed to be.
I have the GL admin folder within the httpdocs folder.
All other Media Gallery admin functions run without error.
Assistance greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about Media Gallery, but maybe this helps: jhead is a JPEG utility and not part of Media Gallery (or Geeklog). Since your hosting service seems to have enabled open_basedir restrictions, you can't use that utility when it's located in /usr/bin. So either install a copy in your webspace somewhere or disable use of the utility in Media Gallery (if that's possible ...).

Thanks Dirk - at last I know where the problem lies.
