I recently moved a number of sites over to Hostgator and all the sites have an issue launching the FCKeditor image browser and it's not permission related.

The error you see in the pop-up that should be the file browser is:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /fckeditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/browser.html on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You will need to contact hostgator support and ask them to add the site and possibly just the file browser.html to their whitelist. They are running some sort of mod_security on apache and it's detecting an exception and trigger the security violation and thus blocking access to the needed files.

Hello:

The rules in question are #340163 and #1234234. They are per-domain based, not URL based.

Just email Hostgator support and request that the two rules be whitelisted on the specific domain that is showing this issue.

Please let me know how I can whitelist rules on a specific domain.

I think HG already fixed this. But I could be wrong though.
